Today I decided to try something new - cooking on the wood stove. The poor stove looks likes it needs dusted and cleaned off (oh well). I made a basic bean soup flavored with a ham hock, carrots, celery and onion. I made the whole thing on the stove. First, I brought the beans up to a boil and then let them sit (off the heat) for a few hours to help soften them. Then I rinsed the beans and then added the rest of the ingredients. I must say that I am very proud of myself!
(And no, the power didn't go off...I just decided to do this on my own).
The Bean Soup - a simple, nutritious dinner with homemade rolls.
So then I got an idea to make scrabbled eggs on the stove, also. They worked out perfectly and now they are in the fridge for tomorrow. I wonder what I will try next?
