Tonight Corbin, Porter and I watched the movie, "Flight 93". I have seen it before and wanted the boys to watch it and learn about the heroism of these brave men and women who saved our country from further devastation at the expense of their own lives. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was watching these terrible events unfold "live" on TV.
I knew it hit Corbin pretty hard. Before going to bed he gave me a good hug and then told me he wanted to be better and asked if I could forgive him when he messes up. His sincerity touched my heart and made we want to be more like a little child, so quick to forgive, to repent and to be humble. He then shared his thoughts about the people who died, he told me he thought those people were chosen. That profound bit of wisdom hit me pretty hard. Yes, I believe that they were chosen to teach us all to stand strong with courage in the face of evil. The light of God will always overshadow the darkness of evil. I feel the darkness creeping in very slowly around us in this world.
My hope is that we will stand tall and hold our light for the whole world to see as we unite with one another in love, in service, and with the common desire to turn to God.
I am thrilled that a National Memorial for Flight 93 is being constructed on 2,200 acres near the crash site. It will be a beautiful area that will be appreciated by many.
