From Tiff:  This movie was the best that I have seen in a long time.  It is a call for fathers to rise to the occasion and be men of God.  It's a must watch for the whole family.

17 Miracles - Must See Movie

I just saw an email from Desert Book telling me that this movie was in our area.  So Olivia and I went this afternoon to the matinee.  If you know me, I abhor spending $7.50 on a matinee.  Even going to the cheap seats with food ticket is a big stretch for me.  But when I watched the trailer and read the reviews on this movie, I knew I wanted to go, especially with tomorrow being July 24 our day of celebrating the pioneers and their trek to Zion.

It was so good that I am going to take my whole family to the movie on Monday for FHE!  It was such a beautiful movie.  Even though I had many tears through the whole film, there were also little glimpses of humor.  Olivia also loved the movie, and wanted to share some scenes with Paul - but he had her wait because he wants to watch it, too.

I hope you all take the time and spend the money to watch this movie, I know it will be in our area a week (through Thursday).  It was especially touching to me after just visiting Martin's Cove with my family a few weeks ago (I will post about that later - I have a lot of catch up to do) and having been on two youth stake treks to the cove with Paul.  It is near and dear to our hearts. The Soul's Captain

I found this interesting after having watched the movie, Invictus. The second poem is a reply or answer from Orson F. Whitney to the poem, Invictus, written by William E. Henley.

When My Kids Complain

Oh, why do kids have to complain so much about the little bit of work we ask of them? I like to quote a line from Nacho Libre about their duties. I ask them "do you need a new duty? cooking duty? dead guy duty?" Sometimes this diffuses the situation. I love the movie Nacho Libre - who doesn't?

The Tooth Fairy Barely Pulls it Off

Yesterday Olivia pulled out another tooth, her front left incisor to be exact! So she placed it on a folded up paper towel (she lost her tooth fairy pillow) and put it near her bed. This morning Paul asked me if the tooth fairy had made a visit to Olivia. Oh no, the tooth fairy forgot (that would be me). So up I raced to the room with a hidden $1 bill in my hand. She was already awake and complaining that the fairy didn't come - which she already knows is me. I asked if she looked under her pillow already. She lifted the pillow to find the dollar bill.

Then she asked why the tooth fairy didn't take the tooth. Humm....think really fast Tiffani. I said, "I guess the tooth fairy wanted to you have it this time." She happily smiled and agreed with the wisdom of the fairy. But the first thing out of her mouth when she saw the $1 bill was the word "CHEAP" said with disdain. She told me that last time she got $2. I thought this was so funny that I had to tell Paul right away. I know the tooth fairy pays big for the first tooth, but I thought it was $1 after that!

This whole "tooth fairy" business reminds me of the cute movie, Tooth Fairy, that is coming out -it looks really cute and it is rated PG.

G-Force

This was a fun movie. The best family movie that I have seen in a few months...the last ones have been duds. The guinea pigs are so cute, I'm sure lots of family will getting new guinea pig pets after this cute movie (not us)! It was entertaining from beginning to end.

Later while Paul and I were talking he told me that the movie doesn't show any parents or families. Hmmm....the more I thought about it the more I realized that this was probably intentional. You hear a mom calling for her son - but you don't see her. There is a very subtle attack on the family right now in the world - be careful, be vigilant, and protect the family.

Excellent movie - (now in redbox)! We just watched it last night. Oh, it will tear at your heart.

Summary: set during World War II, a story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a concentration camp, who has a forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence.
